Xiaomi is preparing to launch the 14 series before the end of 2023, and the company already certified one of the smartphones on 3C. The Chinese Compulsory Certification (CCC) approved a phone with the model number 23127PN0CC, said to be the vanilla Xiaomi 14, with 90W fast charging.
The smartphone will have a power output of 5-20V at 6.1-4.5A, which is 90W max. It will be achieved with the Xiaomi MDY-14-EC charger, which also supports rates up to 90W, but the big question is whether the company will provide the adapter in the retail box.
Back in early 2022, it used to ship the Xiaomi 13 with the charger but only on the international markets – in China, users had to pick whether they wanted the charger bundled separately because it wasn’t in the box.
Xiaomi 13 came with 67W charger in the retail box
The 90W charging speed is nothing new for Xiaomi in general, but it will be a huge step forward for the vanilla flagship. The previous two versions had 67W wired charging, while the 13 Pro and 12 Pro shipped with 120W.
This raises a valid question of whether Xiaomi will increase the charging rate of the 14 Pro, which we should learn in the next few weeks when the device is also inevitably certified.
