Good user interface rules suggest that a pop-up message alerting a user to a problem should have both an actionable button for the user to respond and a cancel button for the user to back out. Unfortunately, some pop-ups ignore these rules, giving users only the option to take the app developer’s desired action.
Frustrated with this annoying turn of events, iOS developer i0s_tweak3r released a new and free jailbreak tweak called YourDismissedTY that forces a cancel button to appear in most apps’ prompts, even when the app developer doesn’t code one in.
Examples of the tweak at work appear in the screenshots above, which display various apps’ prompts with cancel buttons attached when there wouldn’t ordinarily be an option for the user the cancel and back out.
It seems as if YourDismissedTY works not only in apps, but also for jailbreak tweak interfaces. In fact, anywhere that you might encounter a forced-action prompt, you will now find yourself equipped with a cancel button to back out and return to whatever you may have been doing.
If you’re interested in giving YourDismissedTY a try, then you can download the tweak for free from the YouRepo repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 14, 15, 16, and 17 devices.
If you’re not already using the developer’s YouRepo, then you can add it to your package manager app of choice by using the URL provided below:
