Sony has just started rolling out the Android 14 update on the Xperia 1 V. The firmware brings the enhanced Bokeh mode from the Xperia 5 V, as well as the new Video Creator app. Sony announced the Video Creator app as part of Android 14, although they had already released it for Xperia 1 V users as a downloadable app.
The Bokeh mode is Sony’s Portrait mode and was much more impressive on the Xperia 5 V, so it’s great news that Sony has integrated it into the 1 V.
The Video Creator app is an interesting application that is also available on the Xperia 5 V – it allows you to automatically create videos (including music) by choosing the clips you want – the app then does the rest – a bit like Google Photos’ new Highlight video. However, if you want to delve deeper into your skills, Sony’s Video Creator app offers you complex control and usage tools.
The update may take a few days to reach everyone. Sony is implementing Android 14 on the Xperia 1 V – no word on the Xperia 5 V firmware yet.
